Following a reschedule due to Hurricane Helene, Viva Tampa Bay is back and set to bring the heart of Latin culture to Tampa with a two-day celebration at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 11 AM to 9 PM. The festival promises an unforgettable weekend of music, food, family fun, and cultural pride uniting the entire community.

Purpose

The goal of the 2025 Georgia Cancer Summit is to catalyze efforts to promote cancer health equity and reduce the burden of cancer in Georgia. Summit participants will:

• Learn how to apply health equity as an integral strategy for cancer prevention, control and research
• Learn best practices to advance cancer research, prevention and control throughout Georgia
• Hear about healthcare challenges facing rural and minority Georgia communities and how public health and academic leaders are working to serve all communities
• Be able to network with other organizations that may lead to new partnerships
• Identify ways your organization can get more involved in advancing Georgia’s comprehensive cancer control objectives

Audience

The Georgia Cancer Summit is for public health professionals, health care providers, health advocates, researchers, community-based organizations, and others committed to improving cancer health equity in Georgia through cancer prevention and control and community-engaged research.

The fee for this live, in-person summit is $100 for general attendees and $150 for industry attendees. This registration system will take credit card payments. If you need to pay by other means please reach out to Joe Cotter jcotter@emory.edu for options.

A limited number of scholarships are available to assist with registration fees and hotel costs for individuals associated with non-profit organizations, but documentation (such as a statement of need and/or a 990 form) must be presented for consideration. Our holistic healing and wellness fair will combine medical cannabis with many alternative holistic therapies to bring hope and healing to those in need. One of our goals is to bring local practitioners to the holistic fairs to showcase their modalities. The 2025 Hernando County Alternative Medicine Expo will feature many local vendors who want to expand their client base. If you are interested in attending the event, respond to our email and we will send you a vendor form. Besides the Cannabis dispensaries, there will be food vendors, craft vendors, and educational lectures about medical cannabis and other holistic modalities in the main lecture hall. This event is organized by Veterans and will have some Veteran support services available at the event.

The 27th Annual Thunder By The Bay Music & Motorcycle Festival is a three-day event held Feb. 14-16, 2025 at the Sarasota Fairgrounds that benefits Suncoast Charities for Children.  National Headline Acts include Blue Öyster Cult (Friday – Feb. 14), Grand Funk Railroad (Saturday – Feb. 15), and Creed Fisher (Sunday – Feb. 16). The Festival features continuous live music, vendors, motorcycle stunt shows, a charity motorcycle ride, bike show, a motorcycle “sound off” competition, biker games, and much more! On-site camping is also available. Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the gate (12 and under free). Limited VIP tickets are also available. Over the past 26 years, the Festival has raised over $2.8 Million for charity.
